Today I received the first SUMMILUX-M 24 mm f/1.4 ASPH from Leica. I've been looking forward to using this lens since it was announced in the fall as I love wide angles and speed :-)
After dinner tonight, I walked around South Beach to put this gem through the paces. I had so much fun using it that it instantly became a favorite due to its flexibility, size, ease of handling and focusing. Since I did not use an external finder some of my compositions are not as good as I would have liked them but this is 100% my fault.
Hope some of the images below give you and idea about the capabilities of this new lens. I can't wait to start using it for my wedding work.
All images were made with:
-LEICA M8.2
-LEICA SUMMILUX-M 24 mm f/1.4 ASPH
-Shot 100% at ISO 640, f/1.4

| While this is not a technically perfect image, it is one of my favorites. Due to the lens' ease of focusing, I was able to raise the camera to my eye, estimate distance and press the shutter once as we made eye contact. There is a slight movement blur which I find acceptable as I took this shot while walking with the lens wide open. |

| These girls stopped in the middle of the street as they were crossing and started dancing... This is why I love South Beach :-) |

I missed part of the doggie due to sloppy framing on my part :-(

I saw this scene also while walking around Lincoln Road. What attracted me the most was all the layered mini scenes taking place. Hope you like it and enjoy!
